After completing a BA Hons Degree at Brighton in Mixed Media Design in 1980, Jill has worked as a commercial sculptor and modelmaker, in a wide variety of areas that include Museum and Heritage, Fine Art, theatre, advertising and giftware. She has always tried to keep her own personal work going in parallel, making puppets, drawing and then taking up printmaking in 2001.

The imagery in her work reflects her attraction to the theatrical and bizarre, drawing on her own imagination and also literary works like Mervyn Peake's writing, Chaucer. dark fairy tales and mythology- celebrating the idiosyncrasies and sometimes the darker reaches of what makes us human.

She is a member of two printmaking groups and exhibits with both - 12PM (Twelve Printmakers: an East Anglian based group) and Cuckoo Farm Print workshop in Colchester. She is also a member of Suffolk Crafts Society which holds regular shows.
